The first Eurasian music games are held in Astana

The first Eurasian music games are held in Astana. Creative contest is held as part of the EXPO 2017. Its main goal is to find young talented musicians in three disciplines: vocal, violin and piano. Contestants’ age ranges between 12 and 35 years. According to the organizers, the contest participants will also attend art meetings and master classes given by the best performers and teachers from all over the world.

MIKHAIL KIRCHHOFF, ART DIRECTOR:

- The uniqueness of this contest is that it is held in three nominations at once. Our participants are from 18 countries. The total number of participants is 160. For the purpose of continuity between generations, a concert will finalize every day of the contest. This contest has one of the largest prize pools - 88 thousand euros.

As part of the first day of the competition, an Armenian pianist, laureate of more than 20 international contests Nareh Arghamanyan performed on stage accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Astana Philharmonic.

NAREH ARGHAMANYAN, PIANIST, ARMENIA:

- I will perform the composition Travel Notebook by Alexey Shor and Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. I really liked the orchestra and I'd love to work with them again.

Concerts by famous musicians from Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, Hungary, Germany, Norway, and Korea will be held as part of the Eurasian Music Games. The competition will end on August 25th.
